Morgans was originally established in 1987 and is both independent and privately owned. We provide innovative and comprehensive financial management and insurance services to meet the lifestyle needs and aspirations of individuals, together with those of our corporate clients. Within the ever-changing Financial Services industry, our company prides itself on providing a completely independent service which is focused on the creation of personalised portfolios based on attitudes to risk and investment objectives. Our knowledge and expertise ensure that as we review products and services from the entire marketplace, the recommendations made are based on client requirements and not linked to specific providers.

Our financial and operational independence means we are free to develop our client proposition together with our dedicated Employee Benefits division and demonstrates our desire to respond to client needs by developing and delivering a broader range of bespoke services.

Over the years, as we have forged strong client and Professional Partner relationships, our service offering has evolved. Today, we make full use of IT not only to manage individual asset and market information internally, but also to provide online portfolio and performance data to clients. This, coupled with regular communication, forms the backbone of Morgans’ client services.

Martin Dilke-Wing - Director

Martin Dilke-Wing - Director

Martin graduated from University College London in 1981 and joined the Financial Services sector in 1985 as an Independent Financial Adviser, moving to Morgans in 1991. He is qualified up to Advanced Financial Planning Certificate (AFPC) level.

Martin has over 30 years’ experience of advising high net worth individuals and companies in pre- and post-retirement and investment planning. In 2005, Morgans established a specialist employee benefits division, Morgans Corporate Benefits, to look after existing and new corporate clients. In 2008, Morgans Corporate Benefits won the Advisor of the Year title from Corporate Advisor magazine. In 2009 Martin took over the position of Managing Director of this division, whilst continuing to look after a select group of private clients.

Martin is a frequent commentator and reviewer in industry magazines and has often been quoted in various national newspapers and magazines. He has a wealth of experience in complex, high level financial planning and has been used frequently by legal professionals as an expert witness in this field.

Outside work, he plays golf badly and is a frequent attendee of pretty much any sporting event he can get to. He also refuses to accept that he is too old to attend gigs and festivals, although grime and urban have passed him by.

Clive Nicholas - Director

Clive Nicholas - Director

After gaining a degree in Economic History at Swansea University, Clive entered the Financial Services industry in 1983, working for various companies and gaining valuable experience and technical knowledge in a wide range of financial planning environments. In 1992, he made the decision to become an IFA, setting up an IFA practice from scratch with a colleague.  In 1995 Clive joined the Morgans group as an adviser, and was promoted to the board in early 1998. Alongside fellow director Martin, Clive was one of the first people in the Morgans Group to obtain the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate with a bias towards Pensions.

Although currently working as a ‘general practitioner’, Clive tends to advise on the ‘at retirement/later life planning areas’, including IHT mitigation. He is also qualified to advise on Equity Release and Long-Term Care and is Morgans’ specialist in these areas.

Outside work, Clive’s interests are mainly sports, especially rugby, cricket and the odd horse race or two and he enjoys skiing, walking and social cycling holidays. In addition, he is a keen chef and trainee sommelier.

John works very closely with other professional intermediaries, principally accountants and lawyers, where clients need specialist investment and tax planning solutions.

Away from work, John is married with 2 sons. He is a long suffering QPR season ticket holder and has been going to Loftus Road for over 40 years and seen many lows….and the occasional high. John lives in Hertfordshire, manages his son’s local football team, holds his FA coaching badge, and has a passion for supporting his local community and charities.

John enjoys fly fishing and sea fishing and appreciating his catch with a fine wine or two. He has recently passed his level 2 with WSET to develop his knowledge of the wine he enjoys.

Steve Goodwin - Director

Steve began his career at Morgans in 1996 when on a working holiday from his native Australia … and never left! Together with business partner Martin Dilke-Wing, Steve heads up Morgans Employee Benefits where they specialise in providing advice on Group Risk and Health Benefits. He was a member of the team that was awarded the Corporate Advisor of the Year title from Corporate Advisor magazine in 2008.

Married with two children, he takes a keen interest in many different sports including golf, cricket, rugby and football. He also loves his annual family summer holidays in his wife’s native Spain, particularly the region of Galicia. Although life now seems to revolve around his children’s various activities, walking the dog and making the most of his Arsenal season ticket!
